Rosemeyer Roofing Explains How to Prepare for Your Roof Installation

Rosemeyer Roofing Roof Installation

Doug and Tony Rosemeyer, owners of Rosemeyer Roofing, personally oversee every roofing project at our company. Our roofing specialists have been in business for nearly 20 years, and we put our experience to work for you. Before crews from roofing companies come out to your property, you need to be ready for the work to begin. In today’s blog, Rosemeyer Roofing explains how to prepare for your roof installation.

Prepare for a Few Days

You should prepare for a minimum of two or three days for workers to complete the roofing project from start to finish. This time frame includes removing the old roof, laying down any reinforcing materials, and then putting new roofing materials on top of your home. The size of the building, weather conditions, and the condition of your existing roof may cause the project to run longer. Rosemeyer Roofing gives you an estimate of how long the roof installation should take, and we answer any questions you may have.

On-Site Equipment and Personnel

Each vehicle from Rosemeyer Roofing has our company logo on it. Employees also wear company shirts. Expect to see two or three of our trucks on your property. If we’re removing an old roof, we might have a trash dumpster delivered to your driveway. This dumpster keeps the grounds of your property clean as we remove the old roofing materials. Our staff climbs up to your roof using ladders, and we might use lift equipment to place asphalt roof shingles or metal roofing materials on the roof.

Working from Bottom to Top

Once we start on the new roof, we work from the bottom and go up. We place roof shingles, roofing tiles, or slats of metal roofing on the lower part of your roof near the gutters. Then we work our way up to the crest of the roof. At different stages of the process, Rosemeyer Roofing installs flashing to make sure every seam and joint is sealed. Flashing waterproofs the outer layer, so water doesn’t leak around your chimney or air vents.

Clean-Up

The Rosemeyer Roofing team doesn’t leave your property until we clean up after ourselves. We haul away every old roof shingle and pick up every scrap that falls on the ground. We also pick up stray roofing nails and any other hardware used in the installation. We’re big on customer satisfaction, so if there’s anything we can do for you while we’re on the property, please let us know!
